2012 already, can it be?! It hardly seems possible. The coming of January 1st represents not only a new calendar year, but a chance at a new beginning, a new outlook, or even a new resolution.
If 2012 is your year to become a domestic diva, you may love this recent post by The Daily Buzz, 25 Clever Ideas to Make Life Easier. This helpful ‘lil email spread like wildfire and it’s easy to see why. Tips like ‘hull strawberries using a straw’ and ‘make an instant cupcake carrier by cutting crosses into a box lid’ left me (and thousands of others) saying, “Now why didn’t I think of that?!”
But if resolutions for the year just aren’t your thing — and for many they are not — you can still bring in 2012 with a meal meant to increase your chances at a good year. Epicurious recently featured an article entitled, “Lucky Foods for the New Year” highlighting foods from the around the world which are known to bring good luck, prosperity, and harvest, among which are; grapes, cooked greens, legumes, pork, fish, and cakes. Avoid lobster and chicken, or really any winged bird that could send good luck flying away.
